What types of income will we be developing?
We will help you recognise your marketable assets, and build well-established, grounded business models around them. These do not have to be 'Silicon Valley'-style start-up projections, but realistic, mission-aligned and repeatable funding sources for your organisation.
How will we fund the development work as part of the Venture Studio?
We will work together to source philanthropic or concessionary capital to finance development services at the lowest cost possible. Some of our founders are initially supported by donors excited by the chance to build sustainable businesses in the long run, while others can bootstrap their activities. Either way, we will not begin the work until we have secured a healthy future for it.
Will I need to bring in investors for later stages of growth?
That will depend on the business model you decide to build and the opportunities it entails. We believe well-positioned impact work can scale enormously, and create significant returns for investors looking to make positive change in the world. If we see this potential in your organisation, we will support you to pitch your work to investors and grow as a start-up.
